Can four compartment fasciotomy (code 27602) be billed if done to check muscle viability during on the same leg and same operative session as reverse saphenous femoral-femoral bypass for individual with femoral artery injury?

Hi,

Thanks for your question.

You can report code 27602 if doctor has performed fasciotomy of four compartments of leg. Code language says "Decompression fasciotomy, leg; anterior and/or lateral, and posterior compartment(s)", which means procedure done for following compartments - anterior, lateral, and posterior. There are two posterior compartments- superficial posterior and deep posterior.

Please feel free to write to us if you have any questions.

Thanks.
