2017 CPT codes VS 2016 CPT codes

K Posted Mon 09th of January, 2017 12:54:06 PM
in 2016 62311 was used, but in 2017 we have new codes. So I have a patient that had a LESI in December of 2016. Do I use the 2016 CPT codes or the new 2017 codes? I have not been able to locate the answer to this question and I know I knew the answer at one time, but it has left my brain!

Hi Katerina,

Since your date of service for the procedure LESI is December of 2016. You will use code 62311. However, this code has been replaced with 62322 and 62323 effective 01/01/2017. Hope it helps. Thank you.
