2016 Bronchoscopy codes

Janet Posted Mon 15th of February, 2016 15:06:27 PM

With the new 2016 CPT code for Bronchoscopy with EBUS (31652) has anyone had issues when other bronch procedures are preformed at the same time? And if you how are coding due to the CCI edits?

Our pulmonary providers usually always preform other bronch procedures with the EBUS so now we are confused as to only billing one code vs. other codes:

any Ideas or suggestions?

A modifier is not allowed to override this relationship since 31652 is bundled into all other bronchoscopy codes.
Please use column 1 code as primary code.
