1160F medication review

Lina Posted Mon 11th of July, 2016 13:45:06 PM
Hi, we are getting denials for code 1160F for Medicare.(denial states: claim/service lacks information which is needed for adjudication). Are there any other code for medication review?

Hi, The use of Category II codes for performance measurement will decrease the need for record abstraction and chart review, and thereby minimize administrative burden on physicians, other health care professionals, hospitals, and entities seeking to measure the quality of patient care. These codes are intended to facilitate data collection about the quality of care rendered by coding certain services and test results that support nationally established performance measures and that have an evidence base as contributing to quality patient care at least one medication review and medication list during measurement year; the claim/ encounter for the service must be on the same date. Medication Review CPT Codes: 90863, 99605, 99606, 1160F Medication List CPT II: 1159F, 1160F
