Question: May I report 95925/95926 for monofilament peripheral neuropathy testing?

Michigan Subscriber

Answer: No, you may not report 95925 (Short-latency somatosensory evoked potential study, stimulation of any/all peripheral nerves or skin sites, recording from the central nervous system; in upper limbs) or 95926 ( in lower limbs) for testing of peripheral neuropathy using a monofilament device. These codes are for somatosensory evoked potentials only and include recording from the central nervous system. Rather, monofilament testing for peripheral neuropathy is included as part of any E/M service provided.
