FAQ: Are E/M Guidelines Available on SuperCoder?

Absolutely! On an E/M code details page, scroll down under the Lay Term to the CPT® Guidelines section. You’ll see a link to E/M Guidelines there that will show you the same guidelines you would see in a printed manual at the beginning of the E/M section.

If you’re looking for the 1995 and 1997 Documentation Guidelines, we have those, too. Choose Publications/Government. Then on the left side menu, click Evaluation & Management Guidelines.

And of course you can always simplify application of the guidelines by subscribing to EM Auditor, an E/M calculator that automates coding with a user-friendly step-by-step approach. For instance, EM Auditor automatically calculates the proper code using both the 1995 and 1997 guidelines.

FAQ: How Can I Check a Previous Quarter’s CCI Edits?

If your subscription includes the CCI Edits Checker, you can check edits going back to 2011 by using the dropdown list in the Version/Date box. This feature is helpful if you’re working on claims with a date of service in a previous quarter for reasons such as an appeal or an audit.

Remember, logged in subscribers can use the CCI Edits Checker on its dedicated page or on the Coding Tools page.
