Apoorba Ganguly, BS, MsC, CPC,has four years of experience in the field of medical coding. As a coding content specialist, he develops Supercoder.com's content. He writes the Lay Terms, updates codes, and answers coding questions.


Supercoder Alerts trust Apoorba's spot-on accuracy for their code check processes. He checks every code for numerical and description correctness. His attention to detail and reliability ensures accurate Correct Coding Initiative (CCI), Resource-Based Relative Value Scale (RBRVS), and modifier information.


In various organizations in Bangalore, India, Apoorba worked as a senior medical coder. He has two and a half years experience in anesthesia and surgery coding specialties and almost one and a half years of experience in ICD-9 coding.


Apoorba holds Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degrees in Microbiology from Bangalore University and is a Certified Professional Coder® (CPC®) certified through the American Academy of Professional Coders (AAPC).


Ashutosh Rath, BA, CPC, CCS, brings six years of coding experience to his position as a coding content specialist for Inhealthcare. He comes to us from QTAT BPO Solutions, where he worked in medical coding.


You can rely on Supercoder Alerts and Specialty Guides as Ash diligently analyzes each healthcare code. He brings his reliability and expertise to Supercoder's Lay Terms and coding updates.


In addition to a Bachelor of Arts degree, Ashutosh is a Certified Professional Coder® (CPC®) from the American Academy of Professional Coders (AAPC), and is a Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) with the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA). Ashutosh enjoys reading books and listening to music.


 


Deborah Dorton, JD, MA, CPC, concentrates on coding and compliance for radiology and oncology and hematology. She's our expert in cardiology—including the tricky world of interventional procedures. Since joining the company in 2004, she's also covered the ins and outs of coding for orthopedics, audiology, skilled nursing facilities (SNFs) and more.


Deborah earned a law degree from Harvard University and Master's degree from Duke University. She received her Certified Professional Coder® (CPC®) certification from the American Academy of Professional Coders (AAPC) in 2004.


Ellen Garver, CPC, BA, BS, covers medical coding and compliance for pathology and laboratory. The 10-year Coding Institute veteran has served as the editor of Pathology/Lab Coding Alert since its inception. Now, she is the new editor of General Surgery Coding Alert. She also developed the pathology portion of the CPC® Training Camp and is actively working on creating additional sections for the three-day sessions.


Ellen has been a presenter for several pathology coding conferences, and has learned the ins and outs of anesthesiology, cardiology and plastic surgery coding by contributing technical editing for the American Academy of Professional Coders (AAPC) credentialing exam Specialty Study Guide(s).


Ellen has a bachelor of science in agronomy and a bachelor of arts in philosophy from the University of Tennessee. She is a Certified Professional Coder® (CPC®) through the AAPC.


Erin Lang Masercola, PhD, CPC, has been writing about healthcare law, reimbursement, compliance and health information technology (HIT) for 10 years. Erin's passion is in bringing trustworthy, searchable coding advice to the Internet and helping coders build professional networks.


Erin holds a bachelor of arts in English from the University of Texas at Austin. She also earned a doctorate of philosophy in education at UT. She went on to earn a doctorate degree in English at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where she taught science, technical and medical writing. Erin is a Certified Professional Coder® (CPC®) through the American Academy of Professional Coders (AAPC).


Jerry Salley, BA, CPC, has more than five years' experience writing about coding. He focuses on eye coding with ophthalmology and optometry Specialty Alerts. One of the newer alerts, Dermatology Coding Specialty Alert, is benefiting from Jerry's concise advice. He has also written about gastroenterology and urology coding, as well as Joint Commission accreditation, healthcare human resources, and behavioral healthcare reimbursement issues.


A graduate of Furman University with a bachelor of arts in English, Jerry is a Certified Professional Coder® (CPC®) through the American Academy of Professional Coders (AAPC).


Jen Godreau, BA, CPC, CPEDC, specializes in medical coding policy for pediatrics, otolaryngology including allergy and audiology, family practice, internal medicine, and pulmonology. In her most recent role as content director for Supercoder.com, she puts coding content into one easy to use place. Her dual position as managing editor lets her pursue her love of coaching and training coding writers to produce accurate, problem driven coding stories that answer readers' top problems. Her years of coding experience include writing Pediatric Coding Specialty Alert for eight years, Otolaryngology Coding Specialty Alert for seven years, and the primary care publications for six or more years. She also wrote the ICD-9 study guide for the Certified Otolaryngology Coder™ (CENTC™) examination offered through the American Academy of Professional Coders (AAPC). Jen shares her enthusiasm for correct coding by presenting at various Inhealthcare Webinars and live conferences, as well as at Audioeducator audio and webinar events, and at private practices.


Jen has a bachelor of arts in English from Wittenberg University in Springfield, Ohio, and is currently taking science classes at Florida Gulf Coast University in Ft. Myers. She became a Certified Professional Coder® (CPC®) in 2001, and added her designation as a Certified Pediatrics Coder™ (CPEDC™) in 2009.


Leesa A. Israel, BA, CPC, CUC, CMBS, specializes in medical coding and reimbursement for urology and general surgery, as well as billing and collections policies and strategies for physician practices. Leesa is currently an Executive Editor in charge of editing and quality control of more than 12 publications. She has written Urology Coding Alert for five years, as well as several other coding publications specialties such as neurosurgery, pulmonology, allergy, and ophthalmology. Leesa has also covered Medicare and private payer regulations, healthcare human resources, and Joint Commission policy.


While researching and writing more than 1,400 pages of coding and billing information over the years, Leesa has consulted, and continues to consult, with clinical, coding, and billing experts throughout the US. She also presents on urology coding issues at national events.


Through the American Academy of Professional Coders (AAPC), she is a Certified Professional Coder (CPC®) and a Certified Urology Coder™ (CUC™). Leesa is a member of the Medical Association of Billers (MAB) and is a Certified Medical Billing Specialist® (CMBS®).


Leesa has a bachelor's degree in Communication/Journalism from St. John Fisher College in Rochester, N.Y. A real go getter, she has double-minors in English and Economics.


Leigh DeLozier, BA, CPC, moved from the world of hospital public relations to writing Specialty Alerts in 1999. She launched the Anesthesia Coding Specialty Alert and is currently the editor for three additional publications including Neurology Coding Alert, Orthopedic Coding Alert, and Pediatric Coding Alert. She's developing more pain management information and has written for pain management, pulmonology, oncology, and other specialties along the way. Leigh re-launched newsletters for podiatry and dermatology in 2009.


Leigh holds a bachelor's degree in Journalism from Georgia College. She became a Certified Professional Coder® (CPC®) through the American Academy of Professional Coders (AAPC) in 2002.


Manas Maity, B-Pharma, CPC-H, has worked in the healthcare industry for almost eight years. For the past year and a half he has collaborated with the development of SuperCoder.com to ensure its tools deliver coders up-to-date, accurate, pertinent results. His experiences include coding for a variety of medical specialties, and include working through the complete billing cycle to ensure optimal, ethical reimbursement for all claims submitted.


Manas earned a B-Pharma degree by completing a four-year degree course in pharmacy. He earned the Certified Professional Coder-Hospital® (CPC-H®) credential from the American Academy of Professional Coders (AAPC).


Mary Compton, PhD, CPC, is the editorial director for Inhealthcare. She's responsible for the company's international team of writers and content providers. During the past 10 years with Eli Research and The Coding Institute, Mary has directed editorial teams covering medical coding, health policy, and post-acute topics and publications in a variety of healthcare markets.


Mary is a former university lecturer in English. She manages the Inhealthcare editorial team from her office in Ireland.


Suzanne Leder, M.Phil., CPC, COBGC, can answer your ob-gyn coding questions. She has been the Ob-gyn Coding Specialty Alert editor for five years and counting. Suzanne is a Certified Obstetrics Gynecology Coder (COBGC™).


Recently, Suzanne became the Wires manager and ensures timely dissemination of coding information via Tweets, Facebook, and email blasts. As an Executive Editor, she manages a trio of writers. Through her coding writing career, she has covered cardiology, gastroenterology, neurology, neurosurgery, orthopedics, otolaryngology, and physical medicine and rehab.


Suzanne has a bachelor of arts degree from North Carolina State University and an international Master's degree in philosophy (M. Phil) from Trinity College Dublin. She became a Certified Professional Coder® (CPC®) through the American Academy of Professional Coders (AAPC) in 2004.


Torrey Kim, MA, CPC, covers Medicare coding, billing, and compliance issues in-depth as the editor-in-chief of the popular weekly publication Part B Insider. With more than 10 years experience, Torrey stays on top of Medicare's many transmittals, forums, determinations, guides, and coverage changes. She offers a unique insight into the multi-faceted area of Part B coding.


While serving as the former editor of several monthly coding Specialty Alerts, Torrey honed her medical coding skills. She broke down anatomical coding for orthopedics, radiology, and neurosurgery with her for-the-coder diagrams and helped many coders uncover faulty denials and documentation with her hard hitting case studies.


In addition, Torrey has presented on Medicare issues at several audioconferences.


Torrey has a degree in journalism from American University and a master's degree in humanities from Wesleyan University. She is a Certified Professional Coder® (CPC®) through the American Academy of Professional Coders.
