   What is the modifier 77 for? Can I use it when a specialist sees the patient in the hospital as a consult & then the PCP makes his regular rounds , daily visits. We are the PCP. I used on one of the medicaid patients; medicaid suspended it because still searching the information. So I'm not sure if I have used the correct modifier 77.

   Modifier 77: Repeat Procedure by Another Physician or Other Qualified Health Care Professional.

   In the context of your question, you can't use modifier 77. In radiology coding, this modifier is used very frequently if another radiologist the repeats the same procedure on same DOS.
