  1. Patient is seen for ongoing problem in March. MD recommends surgery, patient is agreeable, but does not want to have surgery until a later date. Does the global period start on the date seen even if the surgery is scheduled more than 90 days after date seen?

  2. Global period is considered/starts soon after the surgery has been performed. It is not considered from the date seen by the physician, who schedules to perform the surgery on a specific date.
