  1. Can you bill an observation visit for pre-term labor when an intern does all the work, and just calls the physician and notes the chart.

  2. To code an observation, the patient has to be admitted to observation status. First you have to check the status of the patient. Then it should be attending md who admitted patient into observation, to be billed for observation.
    If all the criteria of observation justified then you can bill for all the work done by the Internist.
