I found these guidelines regarding the performance of Spirometry. But if there is a different guideline for billing for their interpretation, I need to make more research on it. Give me time...

Spirometry maneuvers are obtained by a nurse, respiratory therapist, nurse practitioner,
physician’s assistant, or in some cases the physician. The following steps may be used by any
healthcare provider in the proper performance of a spirometry maneuver.
Pre-test Preparations
• Check spirometer accuracy (daily calibration check)
• Measure the patient’s height
• Wash your hands
• Ask the patient to sit for the test
• Loosen restrictive clothing
• Place loose dentures in a cup
• Optionally, use noseclips
