  1. 99201-99205 For new pt consult/2nd opinion can you bill by documented time only without ROS and exam done?

  2. If you are referring the patient to another doctor for consultation(2nd opinion), then this is the first consultation for another physician. The first consultation should have History, Physical Exam, and MDM component all three must.
    If the it had been a follow-up consultation, then the E/M level depends upon 2 out 3 criteria, i.e., Any two out of History, P.Exam, and MDM.
    E/M level based on Time has been always a payor critieria with some justifications too.
