   Hi Kimberly, are you talking about "discontuinous time" in anesthesia coding? or in E/M coding?

   In general, if a physician is present in one or in multiple services with a gap in time, i.e., in a discontuinous manner, then the exact time while he was present for care of the present, is calculated out of the entire start to stop time. The time when he/she was not available in a particular case providing direct care to the patient, is usually not calculated. This what discontuinous time, in brief. Let us know the exact requirement you have.
