  1. What is the correct CPT for dialysis catheter insertion into right internal jugular vein for dialysis access.

    Please Help!!

CPT 36556 is appropriate in this case because CVC is only one that placed into the large vein in the neck (internal jugular vein ), chest (subclavian vein or axillary vein) or groin (femoral vein). A non-tunneled central catheters called Quinton catheters are generally used for temporary access for dialysis or infusion of medicine when peripheral IV access is not possible.
