  1. Good morning,

We have a provider who is billing for monitoring of the bone stimulator. They are stating they are monitoring to ensure patient is using the bone stimulator as instructed. They provide a printout showing the number of hours used per day. Is this even billable?

    Thanks!

  2. I know that these codes are for bone stimulation, but I need some more time if any separate code is to be coded for monitoring... give me some additional time.
    Note:
20974 Electrical stimulation to aid bone healing; noninvasive (nonoperative)
20975 Electrical stimulation to aid bone healing; invasive (operative)
20979 Low intensity ultrasound stimulation to aid bone healing, noninvasive (nonoperative)
Treatment times vary from 10 to 16 hours per day.
