We used to report 94720 for CO 2 screeening with our Tobacco cessation patients. The new code we are directed to use 94729 is an "add on code"
Does that mean we can not bill 99407 or G0437 with 94729 with ? I do not have the new cpt code book yet and do not know what is suppose to be the primary code? your help is appreciated
Here 94729 is a new add on code for 2012. If you are submitting claim after Jan 1, 2012, you should bill this new add on code with primary code from range 94726-94728. But now you can bill 94720 with 99407 or G0437 till Dec. 31, 2011.
94726: Plethysmography for determination of lung volumes and, when performed, airway resistance
94727: Gas dilution or washout for determination of lung volumes and, when performed, distribution of ventilation and closing volumes
94728: Airway resistance by impulse oscillometry
