   I am working CCI edits for a hospital. It is protocal for EKGs (93005) to be performed before and after certain procedures (33200-33249). For example, an EKG was performed 4 hrs prior to 33241 and again 2 hrs after the proc. Is it appropriate to add modifier 59 in this case?
   Also, is modifier 59 appropriate when an EKG is performed with a stress test?

   When EKG performed for the 2nd time, if performed by the same physician then code 93005-76 . But, if the repeat EKG performed by another physician, then 93005-77.

   When EKG is performed along with Stress test, then it is to be billed as follows:
   93015 and 93005-59.
