   I need the anesthesia code for laser excision condyloma in perineum.

   Laser Tx on condyloma destroys it. The process is done using local anesthesia. As the condyloma exists upon the integumentary layer, code 00400 (Anesthesia for procedures on the integumentary system on the extremities, anterior trunk and perineum; not otherwise specified) as anesthesia code.

   Thank you! How about the same procedure but in the vaginal area (or is perineum the closest I can get)?

   If it's done on the outer surface of vaginal skin or integumentary layer / at outer labia part, it's still 00400. You can code 00940 only if the Px done at depper level of vagina and if documentation describes the presence of target lesion at deep level. But usually laser excision of skin lesion at perineum / vagina should be coded as 00400.

   The choice of anesthesia code will depend upon the documentation of location of the lesions (condyloma). If it's at the integumentary level / skin level of perineum / outer part of vagina, it's 00400. If it's at inner or deeper part of vagina, labia etc. go with 00940. Both 00400 and 00940 have 03 base units.
