  1. Our GI physician was called in on a consult for a patient who has Huntington's Disease

The chief complaint that was GI-related was nausea and vomitting.

A 99222 was signed off on, along with diag 787.01.

    My question is this:

Because we evaluated a patient with Huntington's Disease, is there a V-status code we can use to recognize this aspect?

    or

can we use the 333.4 as a secondary diag - used for the purpose of an add-on?

    Thank you in advance.

  2. It's not required to use a V code. The code for Huntington's (333.4) can be used as a secondary Dx code (787.01 primary).
