I did some digging and wasnt having much luck... while Im waiting for the physician to come out of the dictation room - has anyone ever encountered this and know of a diag code that best describes?

Crohn's disease and abscess occurs in intestinal region, specially in small intestine. Therefore I think coding 569.5 (Abscess of intestine) will be a good idea for this.

I have seen some documentation where the physician says that Crohn's disease and a rectal abscess/renal abscess etc. So in this case I would suggest that you need to check the abscess location and code both the ICD's seperatley i.e the abscess and the crohns disease.
