  1. I had a discussion with the physician who treated a patient with a webbed esophagus - its not Shatzki's Ring by any definition - however, when I brought the diag code 750.3 to the physician's attention, he clarified that this webbing was not congenital...

Can 750.3 still be used to indicate webbed esophagus even though its found under a congenital definition for 750.3????

  2. Since this is not a congenital webbed esophagus so in this we can use 530.89 (Other specified disorders of esophagus). Also do check if Plummer-Vinson Syndrome, Paterson-Kelly Syndrome or Sideropenic Dysphagia is applicable in this case.

  3. I did check the latter - they did not apply which prompted the original post.... Thanks!
