  1. Physician performed a colonoscopy/biopsy on a patient who is currently a post-status anastomosis... in viewing the site - there was a granular-like scar tissue development. The scar tissue gave him concern and determined this be biopsied...

    After talking with the physician - he made it abundantly clear, it is not a granuloma - but the scar tissue found was granular in appearance...

    After reviewing a few different diag-options, the best one I could come up with was 569.89 for the finding code.

    Suggestions?

  2. A granular in appearance doesn't qualify for the code 569.89, and also the Phys has made it clear that it is not a granuloma so I think that the only dx would be 569.9. And also along with this report V45.3 -"Intestinal bypass or anastomosis status".
