  1. Maybe its just me - or the caffeine hasnt hit me yet (its Monday, anything goes!) - Im trying to find the CPT code that indicates a ERCP-related stent that is being removed....

    Any takers? (TIA)

  2. You can go with the code 43269 if removed through an ERCP. The code covers stent removal because this is also considered as a foreign body.

  3. fantastic!!! Thank you so much!

  4. OHHH.. something just crossed my mind - wouldnt v53.90 be needed?

  5. Yes, that's one Dx code. You can also add another Dx if the reason for (diagnostic condition) stent removal is also mentioned in the document [like stent infection, inflammation of internal tissue etc.]

  6. Sorry, V53.59 looks better in this scenario. Stent via ERCP procedure is usually a gastrointestinal device. Better to go with this one, instead of the unspecified code.
