  1. If the patient has ID testing for each allergen single injection(95024), but also has sequential ID testing(95027) done on different allergens at the same session. What would I bill? If I can not bill the 95024 with the 95027 if the testing is performed during the same session per CCI edits. Should I bill 95027 X (complete total # of sticks patient received)? OR Should I bill 95027x(#sticks)+ 95024x(#single injections for each allergen)with modifier 59.

  2. 95027x(#sticks)+ 95024x(#single injections for each allergen)with modifier 59. Since different allergens are used, you may bill the ID in addition to the ID sequential and incremental (old abbreviation: SET). If the same allergen was administered via ID with no reaction and the allergist then progressed to ID sequential, the ID would be subject to the CCI edit. The edit is for more extensive procedure – the physician would only charge for the more extensive testing.
