<p>Since the CPT code 19120 has a global of 90 days and the patient is coming during this period, so even though there are some abnormalities found during the examination, you cannot bill an E/M code 99212 with any modifier. So in this case you can rather bill 99024 (Postoperative follow-up visit.....)only.

<p>Patient was seen Dec 31 for procedure 19120 and had a follow up appt on March 9th. Procedure 19120 has a 90 global on it, however when the physician saw the patient for the follow up he states patient was difficult to exam due to density of breast, the mass feels to be a lobulation of this dense breast tissue. Will proceed with U S. Can I bill this office visit code 99212 with a modifier, if so which one?
