There are many cases when a doctor would remove multiple colonic polyps using various techniques, but I dont think it is always necessary to bill a modifier 22 in these cases. Unless, an until the doctor properly documents that the Px took almost several minutes, or there where some complications, critical conditions etc. So you need to provide supporting documents to insurance that: Why modif 22 was used ?

I have a patient who was found to have quite literally several polyps. It was determined by the doctor that the best course of removal was by snare-technique...

Because of the number of polyps removed and that the procedure in itself would take longer than traditional time to complete, would you consider mod 22?

Looking for feedback..

Thanks!
