


CPT provides several dozen codes to describe skin replacement and substitute procedures. Choosing the correct code depends on the type of replacement or substitute the physician uses, as well as the total area treated.
Begin With Site Preparation
Prior to applying a skin (or skin replacement) graft, the surgeon will normally prepare the recipient site. You may report this preparation separately using the following codes, as appropriate to location and total area prepared:
